National Coming Out Day - October 11
On Oct. 11, 1987, half a million people participated in the March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. Now, every October 11, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people and allies participate in National Coming Out Day events across the country. The Spectrum Center extends coming out events to a month-long celebration, which includes a rally (typically held in the DIAG), among other inspiring events.
2008 GLBT Icons - 31 Days, 31 Icons!
October is GLBT History Month. To celebrate, we are providing daily GLBT Icon videos from Equality Forum, which has selected 31 GLBT Icons, one for each day in October. For each Icon, a daily streamed Icon video is available for viewing. You can also link to a graphically designed downloadable biography, bibliography and other resources. A new Icon and video will be posted each day in October.
